The word for today is football. Today we finished the mural
in the playroom and organized the toy box. After I ate my lunch two friends of
mine were kicking a soccer ball. The ball hit a lamp outside from the
guesthouse and shattered the lamp. I did not know that little Jackson Brown
could hit the ball that hard. I also
played soccer with the staff and we had a fun time with the men. The reason
that we were here was to help encourage the staff members and I hope that our
visit has been encouraging to the staff members at Beit Cure. (this was written by Michael)
Angela’s words for the day are finish and friends. It is amazing how quickly you can make new
friends when working side by side for only a couple of days. By the end of the week, Michael had rounded
up his new friends to play soccer around 4 o clock – about 10 + guys showed up
to play soccer and had a great time – little Jackson Brown was holding his own
with the big guys too!
The murals were finished – the paint lasted until we
finished the murals – we had just what we needed. In the process of creating the murals – I made
friends with a lady named Susan who by the end of the week was designing and
painting the murals – she told me God was stretching her. Today she was praising God and enjoying her
newly painted work space.
Maureen finished teaching her classes on nursing from a
Christian Worldview. She also led chapel
this morning, after her lesson she gave certificates to her students and little
gifts to all the staff. She had some
sweet time with the nurses and the director of nursing – maybe we should call
it Friendship Friday.
Our day ended with dinner with our new friends – Maureen with
some of the doctors and administrators; Angela and Michael with our new friends
in the guest house – Lars, Joel, Myan, and Max.
